The Amazing Spider-Man and Katy Perry: Part of Me opened in theaters earlier this week. Friday, July 6th, Oliver Stone’s latest film joins the box office competition.

In the thriller Savages, Aaron Johnson and Taylor Kitsch play two marijuana growers in California who clash with a Mexican drug cartel that wants a piece of the action and kidnaps their mutual girlfriend. Salma Hayek plays a leader of the cartel.

Blake Lively, Benicio Del Toro and John Travolta also star in Savages, which is rated R.
