1996 - Vince Gill won Grammys for "Go Rest High on That Mountain" in the Best Country Song and Best Male Country Vocal Performance category.

1993 - Travis Tritt got his first acting role in the TV movie Rio Diablo alongside Naomi Judd and Kenny Rogers.

1981 - Eddie Rabbitt, the cowboy from Brooklyn, New York, has the number one single with "I Love A Rainy Night."
