2009 - Taylor Swift won five trophies, including Artist of the Year, at the American Music Awards.

2008 - Tim McGraw sang a verse of "Real Good Man" as part of his opening monologue as he guest hosted NBC's Saturday Night Live.

2003 - Wynonna married her second husband D.R. Roach in Leiper's Fork, Tennessee. They are now divorced.

2002 - Tim McGraw's video for "She's My Kind of Rain" premiered. It was shot in London.

2001 - Billy Ray Cyrus appeared in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. Kix Brooks was also on hand to watch his daughter Molly play flue in the Brentwood High School marching band.

1985 - George Strait's Greatest Hits was certified gold.

1984 - Suzy Bogguss moved to Nashville.

1980 - Kenny Rogers earned a number one hit with "Lady."
 
1973 - George Jones and Tammy Wynette sang "We're Gonna Hold On" in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
