2008 - Randy Travis, Trace Adkins and Martina McBride were added to the Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville.

2006 - Trace Adkins' video for "Ladies Love Country Boys" premiered.  

2005 - Jamey Johnson, Bill Anderson and Buddy Cannon wrote the George Strait hit "Give it Away."

2004 - Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss were each two-time winners at the CMA Awards.

2001 - Garth Brooks' video for "Wrapped Up in You" premiered.

1999 - Faith Hill's album Breathe was released.

1990 - The IRS seized Willie Nelson's property in six states to satisfy a 6.5 million dollar debt.

1962 - Roy Acuff became the first living performer inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

 

Birthday:

George D. Hay (1895-1968) - founder of the Grand Ole Opry radio show, member of Country Music Hall of Fame.
