2009 - Carrie Underwood's single "Cowboy Casanova" hit the airwaves.

2008 - Taylor Swift made her European concert debut, performing a sold-out show in London.

2006 - Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's Soul to Soul Two tour closed at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The couple brought in 89 million dollars on the trek, making it the highest-grossing country tour in history.

2005 - Faith Hill hit the top of the country chart with "Mississippi Girl."

1996 - Deana Carter's album Did I Shave My Legs for This? hit stores.

1988 - Rodney Crowell topped the country chart with "I Couldn't Leave You If I Tried."

1961 - Loretta Lynn signed with Decca Records.
