2009 - Toby Keith's video for "American Ride" premiered.

2002 - The Dixie Chicks played a private show at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, performing their entire album Home in order.

1994 - John Michael Montgomery earned a number one with "Be My Baby Tonight."

1992 - Vince Gill and Travis Tritt picked up five nods each for the CMA Awards. Alan Jackson and Reba got four nominations each, and all four were up for Entertainer of the year up against Garth Brooks.

1991 - Brooks & Dunn's debut album Brand New Man was released.

1988 - Willie Nelson became the first artist to have an album spend 10 years on the Billboard country chart as Stardust logged its 520th week.

1966 - David Houston's single "Almost Persuaded" hit number one.

1924 - Vernon Dalhart recorded "The Wreck of the Old '97" and "The Prisoner's Song." It became the first million-selling country single.
