2002 - The Dixie Chicks performed on the Grand Ole Opry and interrupted the performance to announce the newest Country Music Hall of Fame inductees: Porter Wagoner and "Jumpin'" Bill Carlisle.
2001 – Dixie Chicks member Martie Seidel married Ireland-based college professor Gareth MaGuire in Hawaii.
1991 - Vince Gill joined the Grand Ole Opry. Roy Acuff inducted him and shed tears as Vince sang "When I Call Your Name."
