2007 - Vince Gill's commercial for Fruit of the Loom premiered featuring the tune "Daddy Was the Apple of My Eye." Fruits from the company's logo played in the band.
2006 - Kelsi Osborn of SheDaisy and husband Steve had their twin daughters in Nashville.
2005 - Willie Nelson's reggae album, Countryman, was released.
2000 - Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's video for "Let's Make Love" debuted on CMT the same day they launched their Soul 2 Soul tour. It was their first outing as a married couple.
1994 - Brad Seals made his last appearance as a member of Little Texas in Michigan.
1988 - Randy Travis' album Old 8 by 10 was released.
1986 - Charlie Daniels hosted the Volunteer Jam 12 at Starwood Amphitheater in Nashville with special guests Don Henley, The Judds and Dwight Yoakam among others.
1980 - Charley Pride hit the top of the country chart with a remake of Hank Williams' "You Win Again."
1972 - Tom T. Hall recorded "(Old Dogs-Children And) Watermelon Wine" around noon at Mercury Custom Recording Studio in Nashville.
1954 - At age 19, Elvis Presley signed his first recording contract with Sun Records. He quit his job as a truck driver for The Crown Electric Company that day, too.
