2007 - Brad Paisley's video for "Online" premiered featuring appearances from Taylor Swift and Kellie Pickler.

2005 - George Strait's album Somewhere Down in Texas was released.

2003 - Alabama, Brooks & Dunn and Kenny Chesney were among the stars performing at a Dale Earnhardt tribute concert at Daytona Motor Speedway.

2003 - Joe Don Rooney became the first person to show their backside on CMT as Rascal Flatts' racy video for "I Melt" premiered.

1986 - Willie Nelson took the top spot on the country chart with "Living in the Promiseland."

1985 - Gary Morris made history as the first singer to perform opera on the Grand Ole Opry, singing a selection from La Boheme.

1980 - The Oak Ridge Boys went to number one with "Trying to Love Two Women."

1966 - Merle Haggard recorded his classic tune "The Bottle Let Me Down" at Capitol Recording Studio in Hollywood.

1940 - The movie Grand Ole Opry opened at Nashville's Paramount Theater starring Roy Acuff.
