2006 Keith Urban married actress Nicole Kidman at Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel in Sydney, Australia. Actor Hugh Jackman and actress Naomi Watts were among the guests at the ceremony.
2002 - The Dixie Chicks' album Fly was certified for 10 million album sales.
2000 - Country music whiz kid Billy Gilman made his Grand Ole Opry debut at the age of 12.
1996 - Trace Adkins debut album, Dreamin' Out Loud, was released.
1987 - Reba filed for divorce from Charlie Battles, four days after their 11th wedding anniversary.
1986 - George Strait's 13-year-old-daughter Jenifer died in an auto accident in San Marcos, Texas. Her teenage friend was at the wheel.
1984 - Ricky Skaggs' single "Uncle Pen" was released.
1982 - The Statler Brothers announced that Lew DeWitt was retiring due to his battle with Crohn's disease. Jimmy Fortune replaced him in the group.
1965 - Eddy Arnold recorded "Make the World Go Away" at Nashville's RCA Studio B.
